Bangladesh to announce squad on Monday

After India announced their squad on Sunday for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka, now the eyes are on Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It has been know that Sri Lanka will wait to know the situation of Mathews’ fitness before announcing their squad.

On the other hand, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to announce the squad on Monday according to some sources.

During the tri-nation series, the T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the Test series and the T20I series against Sri Lanka, but is set to comeback in the upcoming tournament and he will replace Mahmudullah Riyad as captain.

Khaled Mahmud Sujon, the technical director has said the experienced players in this format will be given priority. Many young stars were included in the T20I squad against Sri Lanka. Some of the players are set to be excluded.

The tri-nation T20I series involving India and Bangladesh gets underway on March 6 at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. India have rested captain Virat Kohli and will be led by Rohit Sharma. Sri Lanka will take on India in the curtain raiser. The final of the tournament will take place on the 18th March.
