Bangladesh to go to Pakistan on special chartered flights

Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan on 22nd January to play a three-match Twenty20 series. While the distance to Pakistan is not long by the way, it will take longer to get through by air. So, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is thinking of chartered flights to fly directly to Pakistan.

Bangladesh to go to Pakistan on special chartered flights

Bangladesh will play three T20 matches at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Security was the main issue in Pakistan’s visit from the beginning. Thousands of police would be deployed to provide security to Bangladesh team. However, after confirming security, BCB had been now thinking about the Bangladesh team’s travel to Pakistan.

There had been no airline to fly directly from Bangladesh to Pakistan. There will be transit and after that with connecting flight they will reach Lahore.

The distance from Dhaka to Lahore is about 1800 km. But if they pass through Doha to Lahore, Bangladesh team will have to cross more than 8,000 kilometers. It will take more than twice time as long. All together, it will take from Dhaka to Lahore for at least 12-13 hours.

That’s why BCB planned to take the special aircraft for the team. Such is the view of BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

The three-match T20 series will start from 24 January. The remaining two matches in the series will be held on January 25 and 27. They will return home on January 28.
