Bangladesh to play at least three practice matches in Sri Lanka

Bangladesh cricket team will play three warm-up matches for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The head of the management department of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Akram Khan confirmed that the number of preparation matches can be four on the basis of of requirements while talking to the media on Tuesday.

Bangladesh cricket board has decided to back on the field breaking silence. There were no cricketing event in the country due to the lethal Coronavirus contamination. The prescheduled Sri Lanka tour was postponed with the pandemic. But the series has been rescheduled again with consent of both board.

As there were no cricket for a long time , BCB is emphasizing playing more practice matches before the start of the series

“We will play three or four practice matches before the start of the series against Sri Lanka. From there there will be a chance to pick. There will also be options for team selection. The last 5-6 months there was no game. It is very important to have a practice match before the Test.” Akram khan said.

The series will start from October 24. However, Akram Khan also said that the practice matches against whom will be decided after going to Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Bangladesh players have been away from cricket since last March due to corona.

The cricketers’ personal practice has started last month under the auspices of the BCB. But being under house arrest from March to July, it is difficult for them to play on the international stage.
