Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced that they will tour Pakistan next month to play only three T20Is. The decision of playing Tests will be taken later.

Bangladesh won't play Test series in Pakistan- BCB President
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon have announced their decision on Sunday regarding the participation in the Pakistan tour. The team is set to travel to Pakistan next month, but they will only play the T20Is series for now.

The BCB president informed after the board’s first meeting of the new year at the home of cricket in Mirpur that the decision of playing the Test series will be taken after coming back home.

“We have got security advice. We applied for Government Order (GO). Due to the particular situation in the Middle East, we have been told to stay there for a short period of time. We will play the Test series later,” he said.

Papon has also informed that the government had told the board it can go ahead with a tour of Pakistan but keep it “short” due to the Iran-US tensions. The board is now set to talk with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and finalize the decision.

We are clear cut, but let’s see how they react. As far as security is concerned, T20 is a better option. They should be happy that we still want to go to play T20s. We just wanted rescheduling [of the Tests], not saying we won’t tour. This is the best thing we can offer to Pakistan,” he added.

It is now all down to the PCB if they agree with the proposal or not. A new twist is likely to take place regarding the tour if the Pakistan board denies the proposal of BCB.
