BCB called up 35 players for conditioning camp


Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have called up 35 players for a conditioning camp where they have also included the ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

Ahead of the one-off Test against Afghanistan and the T20I tri-nation series, BCB have called up 35 players for a conditioning camp. Even though there is no ODI this year, BCB have also included the ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the camp.

BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed that Mashrafe is under the national payroll and it’s BCB’s duty to to look into his fitness.

“You know Mashrafe was advised to stay away from cricketing activities for 21 days due to a hamstring injury for which he had missed the Sri Lanka tour. He [Mashrafe] is under the national payroll, so we have to look into his fitness. We included Mashrafe as a part of his rehabilitation programme,” he said.

In the 35-man squad, the notable omissions are Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Saifuddin. Tamim will not take part in the upcoming series as he has asked for rest while Saifuddin is still recovering from his back injury. On the other side Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das, who didn’t take part in the last Sri Lanka series are back after spending their holidays. The camp will begin on August 30.
