‘BCB CEO sent me the contract, then no one called’ – Chaminda Vaas

Former Sri Lankan speed star Chaminda Vaas was one of the frontiers whose name had been under consideration for a long time as the fast bowling coach of Bangladesh prior to the appointment of Courtney Walsh. As it was heard once that Vaas was nominated the cricket authorities in the country and then all of a sudden he became unheard of.

What happened afterwards was out of reach of cricket fans. Chaminda Vaas made his presence in the sole preparation match of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Board President XI. When he was asked about what went on in that time, the premier Sri Lankan pacer seemed agitated. He only said, “The CEO of BCB sent me the contract, then no one called.”

Saying the negotiation matters are confidential, BCB officials denied to comment on Chaminda Vaas’s revelation on the issue. Around May 2016, Chaminda Vaas was one of the few candidates Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was considering for pace bowling coach of the team.
