BCB in no hurry to appoint new coach

With the head coach post of Bangladesh remaining empty, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is not hurrying to appoint new coach. The tri-series and Sri Lanka series are most likely to be played without a head coach.

Former Bangladesh coach Richard Pybus and former West Indies World T20 winning coach Phil Simmons have given their presentations to BCB. The board has also talked with few others as well. But it is yet to know who is going to be the new boss for Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and co.

“We are in discussion about the selection of new coach for Bangladesh team. There has been no decision as of yet. The BCB president (Nazmul Hasan) talked with a few persons. It has not been confirmed who will be the next coach,” said BCB media and communications committee chairman Jalal Younus.

Bangladesh’s new year will begin with an ODI tri-nation series with Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. The players will start their camp from December 27. The camp will be run by other coaching stuffs.

The BCB is searching for someone who can stay with the team for at least two years.

“We don’t know if we can bring a new coach before December 27. But we are trying. Actually we don’t want to hurry to select our next coach. We want to hire a coach for at least two years. So it is difficult to give the responsibility to someone in a hurry,” Jalal added.
