“We have spoken with Bangar (for Test batting consultant) but nothing is finalised yet. We are also negotiating with few others as well (for the Test batting consultant post). McKenzie is looking after the red-ball cricket despite being a white ball consultant and till we get a batting consultant for Test cricket we are expecting him to do the job (in red ball,” he said.

Bangar worked as the batting coach of India from 2014 to 2019 and he contributed a lot as a member of the coaching staff. However, he was the only one of the Ravi Shastri-led coaching staff whose contract wasn’t renewed in 2019 after India’s successful tour of the Caribbean. Vikram Rathoure replaced him as the new batting coach of India.

On the other hand, Bangar is now open for a job and he is currently working only as a commentator.
