BCB increase players under central contract
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has increased players from 10 to 12 under the central contract for the year 2019.
Imrul Kayes, who did not have a contract last year has been handed a Grade A contract. There are some changes in Grade B and Rookie list as well. Liton Das has been promoted to Grade B while Nazmul Hossain misses out on a contract.
Abu Jayed Rahi, Mohammad Saifuddin, Naeem Hasan and Khaled Ahmed are the four new faces in the rookie list.
However, BCB are yet to announce the salaries of the contracted cricketers. They are set to take the decision in the upcoming days.
Kayes, who has been handed a Grade A contract was dropped from the squad for New Zealand tour. Though BCB President Nazmul Hossain Shanto said on Monday that Kayes is still on the radar of the national selectors.
“If we need a back up for New Zealand we don’t have many options apart from Imrul as we don’t have a place for a pacer or spinner. But this is totally my personal observation because his name was not proposed to the officials,” he said.
