BCB looking for experienced batsman

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu has informed that the board is in search for an experienced batsman as the Tigers are having a busy schedule.

The selectors are having a close eye on Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2016-17 where the experienced and young ones are featuring. The team management is likely to add three or four more cricketers in the Ireland series.

“We have two series in a row and there is a possibility of injury. And more importantly, there will be some ups and downs in the performance of the players. We are keeping a close eye on the Dhaka league as we are looking for an experienced batsman. We want a bit of experience in those conditions,” Minhajul told the reporters during a DPL game at BKSP.

“On the other hand, it’s difficult for the youngsters to adapt to the conditions instantly. We are also willing to take one pacer and a batsman as back-up.”

Bangladesh will fly for United Kingdom for ten-day camp on April 26. They will play tw warm-up games in May during the conditioning camp. The tri-nation series against Ireland and New Zealand will start from May 12. And the last but not the least, the ICC Champions Trophy will begin on 1st June when Bangladesh face hosts England.
