BCB postpones training session out of corona fear

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has postponed the players individual training program out of the fear of contamination. The board authority was very careful from the beginning as they postponed all forms cricketing actions after coronavirus hit back in Bangladesh. Due to growing symptoms of some stuffs in BCB, the board has postponed the practice session.

Although, other boards were making space for their players to return on the field, BCB was silent regarding resuming cricket. After a lot of drama, the BCB gave the opportunity to the cricketers to practice in person from July 19. Initially, 13 cricketers were permitted to prepare themselves in individual grounds. The number of the players increased in some phases.

Meanwhile, some of the support staff showed corona symptoms during practice at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium ahead of the tour of Sri Lanka. Therefore , the board has postponed the practice session initially for three days as they are not willing to take any risk.

“It was a personal practice session for the cricketers. We decided in advance that we would stop if something suspicious or dangerous happened and It was part of our medical plan. Some stuffs have symptoms right now, so we are stopping this practice for now”

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan said.

” At the beginning of the practice all the rules (hygiene rules) were strictly followed. But recently it was no more. We want to make sure we are on high alert before going to Sri Lanka, “he added.
