After some good performances at home, Bangladesh have been given a reality check in South Africa. Batting, bowling or fielding, nothing gone right in the tour for the Bangladesh Team.
From starting to Test series to ODI and T20I, South Africa dominated in every format and it clearly indicates that many things went wrong for the Tigers.
The coaching staff has been criticized by many and specially the man in spotlight is the Head Coach Chatura Hathurusinghe.
On Tuesday, when asked to BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon about what he thinks, he said: “I will ask Hathurusinghe to tell in details about team’s failure. We would want to hear about his opinion. It is important. We will communicate with him.”
Papon also said not only the bowlers, but the batsmen performed badly too: “The bowlers should not be charged only. The batting unit performed badly too. We have a good batting line up but they still couldn’t perform well in flat wickets. We have to know the reasons behind that.”
He added: “Bangladesh can lose, but losing like that isn’t acceptable. We have to know that if there is any other reason behind that. I will talk about this with coaching staff, players, selectors and team manager. If have to find out what’s the main problem.”
“We have to face bigger challenge ahead. Bangladesh have played most of the matches at home so far. But they have to play more matches away from home in the future. We have a board meeting tomorrow. We will talk about team’s failure there,” Papon concluded.
