BCB President to be ‘Mr. Interferer’ again
After the cricketers were brought to the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the context of the national team was raised at a BCB-hosted press conference. BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon expressed some resentment when talking about this.
BCB president had rarely expressed satisfaction with the national team since the poor performance in the Pakistan tour. The same can be said of boredom. Yesterday the press conference also kept the tone of the words of the BCB president unchanged in the context of the national team.
Nazmul said he had earlier intervened in various decisions of the national team. He also came away from that. But BCB president said after this kind of poor performance the idea of interference should come again.
“What would we take if we won the toss, where would the batsman bat, all was in my mouth. They had talked to me before. But now it’s not. Now the opposite is happening. If them tell me about taking fielding, I see the batting taken after the start of the game.
“I don’t understand anything. It started with a visit to India. Even before I was told in the Test against Afghanistan, I came up with the opposite. For this I think I am the biggest responsible. I wanted to get out of here very much. I thought a lot had happened. Gradually, they will be okay. Now I do not see it to be the same again,”
BCB president then told reporters in a joke, “You guys named me Mr. Interferer. Now I see that a name like this is going to be read again. Since the last World Cup apart from Shakib, we did not get any team performance. Then the situation is going. I think sometimes it’s not the Bangladesh team which I used to know.”
