BCB reschedules Pakistan U-19 series
Pakistan U-19 team’s tour of Bangladesh has been pushed back by five days considering a nationwide lockdown to curb coronavirus transmission.
The week-long lockdown has started on Monday (April 5). In spite of that, the series between Bangladesh Emerging Women and South Africa Emerging Women has been given a green light while the U-19 series was jeopardised.
Pakistan U-19 will arrive in Dhaka on April 17, delaying from previously scheduled date April 12. They will immediately head to Sylhet and quarantine for three days.
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have agreed on readjusting the itinerary for the Pakistan Under 19 Team’s tour in consideration of the week-long countrywide Covid-19 restriction on public movement and activities which ends on 11 April. The Pakistan U19 team will now arrive in Bangladesh on 17 April instead of 12 April to play a four-day match and five youth ODIs against the hosts who are the defending Under 19 world champions,” the BCB said in a release.
The one-off Youth Test will take place on April 23 to 26 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The first three Youth ODIs will be played at the same venue on April 30, May 2 and 4.
Dhaka will host the final two games on May 7 and 9.
