Although the highest authority of cricket in Bangladesh wanted to start the league from January 5, it has been postponed for another ten days on request of two franchises who asked for time to take preparation.

National team chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said told they have already started the procedure of team selection for the forthcoming tournament.

“We have done eighty percent work to arrange BCL. Now we are selecting four teams. We want to give opportunities to those who performed well in the national league along with cricketers of High Performance Unit,” Nannu said.

National team cricketers will not be able to take part in the initial matches of the sixth edition of BCL on account of Tri-nation series. But Minhajul Abedin Nannu said those who will be out of the national team in the Tri-nation series and the first Test against Sri Lanka can play in BCL.
