BCCI accepts Dinesh Karthik’s apology over his CPL appearance
Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has accepted the apology from the Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik on his appearance during a game in Caribbean Premiere League 2019.
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik was in news during last week as he was seen in the Knights’ dressing room during a league game in Caribbean Premiere League 2019. His appearance there created some controversies. The broadcasters telecasted his presence in the dressing room again and again.
Dinesh Karthik was sitting along side with former New Zealand captain and player Brendom Mccullum, who is also the head coach of TKR in CPL. That was actually a violation of terms from Dinesh Karthik over his contract with BCCI.
Consequently Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an show-cause notice the wicket-keeper batsman over the issue. In reply, Dinesh Karthik made an apology to the board, quoting that he went to the dressing room as Brendom Mccullum insisted him to be there. Brendom Mccullum has been appointed as the new head coach of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders led by Dinesh Karthik.
BCCI is good enough to close the issue with an unconditional apology to the wicket-keeper batsman over this issue. “The BCCI has accepted Dinesh Karthik’s apology and the matter is now a closed chapter,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying in The Hindu.
