BCCI to contribute Rs 51 crore to combat COVID-19 pandemic
The whole world is now engulfed by the outbreak of coronavirus. Citizens have been appealed for voluntary deportation. India is closed until April 21. Thousands of poor people have been living in trouble due to this lockdown.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come forward in the country’s misery. In the fight against coronavirus, it has been officially decided by BCCI to donate Rs 51 crore to the coronavirus fund. Earlier, many cricket stars of the country came forward with the help of the helpless in personal initiative with some donation or distribution of rice.
The news was confirmed by a BCCI press release on Saturday night.
“The prevalence of coronavirus is now the biggest threat to public health,” the release said. “The BCCI has decided to help people during this difficult time. Donations will be made to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Fund on behalf of the Board. With which necessary work can be done.”
It is reported that Rs 51 crore will be given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fund. Which is 57 crore 79 lakh 51 thousand 514 thousand in Bangladeshi currency.
So far, 987 people have been affected with coronavirus in India. Among them, 25 are died and only 87 are recovered.
