Stokes to miss first part of IPL
Rajasthan Royals get a huge boost as their premium all-rounder is all set to join the side. Stokes posted a picture on his twitter handle signalling he is on his way to UAE. He is expected to arrive on Sunday.

The all-rounder could not join at the beginning due to his father’s sickness. He left during the Pakistan series midway and went straight to Christchurch to see his father. He has been with him since then and after more than a month, he has half New Zealand.

However, Stokes can’t play for Rajasthan straight away. As per the IPL rules related to the COVID-19 protocols, Stokes will have to undergo six days of quarantine on arrival in the UAE, and is likely to be available for the match against Delhi Capitals on October 14. He might get the chance to play on October 11, but it might be too early and it is still in doubt.

Despite the absence of Stokes, Steve Smith and his men have started off the tournament brilliantly with two wins out of three including a thrilling game against Kings XI Punjab where they chased a mammoth target of 200 odd runs.It will be interesting to see who will be dropped to make way for Stokes once he’s ready to play.
