Best moment yet to come: Shakib
Bangladesh’s poster-boy Shakib Al Hasan has recalled his best memories of his career and a big dream in a Youtube video.
Shakib answered questions from journalists on Wednesday through his Youtube channel where he spoke about his past playing days and post-suspension career. This was the first time in a while Shakib got in touch with the media after his ban ended on October 29.
The all-rounder was asked about the best moment of his career. He replied saying World Cup would be the ultimate goal.
“I think my best moment is yet to come. If it comes then it would be winning the World Cup for Bangladesh – be it T20I or ODI. That will be the biggest moment,” he said.
However, Shakib highlighted Bangladesh’s 2017 Dhaka Test win over Australia where he scored a half-century and bagged 10 wickets, and his 606-run fest in 2019 World Cup.
“If I are to name one great achievement till now, it’s winning a Test match against Australia. On a personal note, my performance at last year’s World Cup was the best.”
Shakib will make return to professional cricket in Bangabandhu T20 Cup starting from this month. West Indies tour of Bangladesh in January 2021 is likely to be his first international series since comeback.
On answering a question from bdcrictime.com correspondent Toriqul Islam Sojol regarding his return, Shakib expects the fans will make his process easier.
“It will be extremely tough. But as it seems the amount of support I’ll be getting will certainly help me. I will try to start from where I finished as soon as possible,” said Shakib.
