An official of the BCCI said,

“Sivaramakrishnan sent an e-mail at around 4:16pm on January 22. The deadline for sending the application was January 24. In fact, a special e-mail address was created to apply for the post of selector. 21 applications were also emailed.”

According to a source in the Indian Cricket Board, “It was done with a dishonest purpose. There needs to be a full investigation into this issue. BCCI should talk to Sivaramakrishnan about this. If need be, check his sent e-mails.”

After the departure of chief selector MSK Prasad in January, several former stars are applying for the post. Sivaramakrishnan is very much ahead of all in experience. But there creates such a debate about him.
