Bijoy should be given a chance in ODIs: BCB president

Bijoy, who made a record in the ODI format in domestic cricket, could not take the field in the 50-over format after returning to the national team. For this reason, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon does not want to throw Bijot into the cancellation list.

Bangladesh top-order batsman Anamul Haque Bijoy has not been able to prove himself even after returning to the national team after many struggles. He opened the closed door of the national team by scoring a record 1138 runs in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) this year.
However, Bijoy, who made a record in the ODI format in domestic cricket, could not take the field in the 50-over format after returning to the national team. For this reason, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon does not want to throw Bijot into the cancellation list.
Speaking to the media in Mirpur on August 4 (Thursday), Papon said about Bijoy, “Bijoy wasn’t here (in the Test squad) before this series. Because of Yasir's injury, he was played in the Test. I see no reason to blame him for not doing well there. He has gone well in the ODI team. He should be given a chance in ODIs."
The Zimbabwe ODI series is not included in the Super League. As a result, Papon is not thinking too much about the results of the series. Rather, he sees it as an opportunity to conduct experiments in the team. Papon added, “The Zimbabwe series is all about experimentation. When I found out that there is no point of calculation, this is the only series where we can run a little experiment. There is nothing to worry too much about it. Sadly no one could do better. But at least some players have done well."
