Blackcaps sweep series 2-0

New Zealand have pulled off a comfortable 240-run victory in the second Test against West Indies at Seddon Park, Hamilton as they seal series 2-0.

West Indies were 30/2 overnight after they were set a target of 444 runs by the hosts. New Zealand earlier posted 291/8d after the Caribbeans made 221 in reply to Kiwis’ first innings score 373.

New Zealand bowlers dismantled West Indies middle-order with taking 5 wickets for 80 runs. Although Roston Chase scores a 98-ball 64 with five boundaries. He made a 78-run partnership with debutant Raymon Reifer.

Reifer scored 29 off 109 balls with five fours. West Indies’ hopes were over but Kemar Roach hit some blow before the match ended. He hammered 4 fours and a six in his 44-ball 32-run knock.

Earlier in the day four, West Indies lost Sunil Ambris for 5 after he was retired hurt by a bouncer from Neil Wagner. Mitchell Santner dismissed Roach and Miguel Cummins on consecutive balls to finish West Indies’ innings for 203 in 63.5 overs.

Wagner took three wickets for 42 runs. Tim Southee and Trent Boult took two wickets each as well. Boult became the sixth New Zealand bowler to take 200 Test wickets.

Ross Taylor was named Man of the Match for his 107* in the second innings, his 17th career century, the joint-most in New Zealand history.
