BPL 2019-20: Gayle to participate in just two matches for Chattogram

West Indies destructive opener Chris Gayle will play for Chattogram Challengers in the upcoming edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). However, he will not play many matches. He will play only two matches. That will be also in the last phase of the tournament.

Chattogram authorities unveiled team jerseys at a hotel in the capital Dhaka on Monday.

On the occasion, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and technical director of Chattogram Challengers, Jalal Yunus, said that Gayle would be played in just two matches.

“Gayle will come for only two matches at the end of the BPL. He will not get more than two matches,”

he said.

Gayle played in all the previous six editions of BPL. He had been the most successful batsman of the tournament, among all domestic and foreign players. He has a great record of the highest century, fastest century, fastest half-century etc.

West Indies explosive batsman Gayle got the team from ‘A Plus’ category for $ 1 million (85 lakhs in Bangladeshi Taka). Shortly after the completion of the draft it was learnt that Gayle himself did not know about his presence in BPL draft.

However, Gayle finally agreed to play, but this time his Bangladesh tour will be very short.
