BPL 2019-20: Top players who weren’t picked in Players’ Draft this season

More than just the names and the experience, all the teams emphasized the importance the players of being in the game and inform performer in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) Players’ Draft on Sunday, November 17. And so, after the World Cup, there was little interest in the country-bound cricketers and Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who was away from all forms of cricket.

BPL 2019-20: Top players who weren’t picked during draft this season

Mashrafe who doesn’t play T20s and Tests for national team and also is out of the national league, however, got the team too late. However, most of his contemporary cricketers did not get the team.

Not all BPL teams this year had shown much enthusiasm for the senior cricketers. And so, without Mashrafe, no other several senior cicketers could not get the team in that sense. Neither team took them. Even the teams did not show interest. The number of these kind of players who are not available for any team in the BPL Players’s Draft is not low.

In fact, the bulk of the senior cricketers did not get the team. Most of the seniors outside the national team were in the ‘C’ category. And among them, the big amount of senior cricketers did not find any team. Some of the names are- Mohammad Ashraful, Shahriar Nafees, Abdur Razzak, Tushar Imran, Naim Islam, Marshall Ayub and Ziaur Rahman.

Besides, former left-arm spinner Mosharraf Rubel (‘C’ category), another left-arm spinner Elias Sunny (‘D’ category) and paceman Shahadat Hossain (‘D’ category) did not get the team.

Opener Mehedi Maruf, leg-spinner Jubair Hossain Likhon, left-arm spinner Saqline Sajib, pacer Subashis Roy, leg-spinner Tanbir Hayder, top-order batsman Shykat Ali and national team paceman- Khaled Ahmed and Ebadat Hossain were not also picked in the draft.

However, all those mentioned above, who will not be in the BPL this time, will not get a chance to play – now there is no way to say. Because there is still a chance to be in the team by negotiating. Almost every team get the players in compromise every year after the players’ draft. Mohammad Ashraful and Shahriar Nafees got the team last year in this same process.
