BPL points table after Chittagong phase
After fours win in a row, Rangpur Riders have climbed to the top of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) points table in the Chittagong phase.
The arrival of former South Africa captain AB de Villiers gave a massive boost to the Riders as they won four out of four with de Villiers contributing big in all of the matches.
However, the Chittagong phase was not a convincing one for the home side Chittagong Vikings. They were at the top of the table before the Chittagong phase. But they won only one match out of the four matches they played at home.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s men are now at third and have confirmed a place for the play-offs. Meanwhile, table-toppers Rangpur Riders have won 7 out of 11 matches.
Things have turned absolute nightmare for the Dhaka Dynamite as they have four matches in a row. After their defeat against Chittagong today, they are now fifth at the table.
The last game of the Chittagong phase also saw some thrilling action. Rajshahi Kings kept them alive with a convincing win over Sylhet Sixers. With this win, they remain at 4th with 12 points. On the other side, Sylhet Sixers are out from the tournament after this defeat. Sixers won only 4 matches out of the 11 matches they played.
Khulna Titans, who managed to earn 4 points only were the first team to be out from the tournament. They had a frustrating outing in Chittagong too.
