Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has named Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the most valuable player in T20 cricket. Hogg said Pandya is a player who strives to excel when the team demands him with bat and ball and that Hardik should take India beyond KL Rahul.
Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has named Team India's Hardik Pandya as the world's most valuable T20 player. Pandya made a spectacular comeback to international cricket in the South Africa Series after achieving IPL glory in his 15th season as captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT).
After the T20 World Cup in 2021, Pandya decided to take a break from international cricket, but he made a convincing showing in his return series against the Proteas. Along with Pandya, veteran Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik made an amazing comeback for the Indian team during the South Africa Series.
Hogg added that Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand and Pandya of India are the two players who have already really surprised him in a video the former Australian cricketer posted on his YouTube account last month. "He aspires to go out there and perform, whether it's with a racquet or a ball, during these difficult times when his team is up against it."
“He can adapt; The other day, entering those final overs, he was able to score from the first ball. Few people possess such an ability. If they lose early wickets too, he can step up and do well at the top of the order,” Hogg said.

When asked about the Indian all-rounder's rise, Australia's Hogg named Pandya the world's most valuable T20 cricketer. “He is the most valuable T20 cricketer in the world at the moment. Hardik Pandya should be captain of this T20 team ahead of Rahul," Hogg added.
On Sunday, Team India meets hosts Ireland at The Village in Dublin. On Tuesday, the visitors will play the series finale at the same place.
