Brad Hogg picks better batsman between Kohli and Rohit
Rohit Sharma was at the peak during 2019 World Cup where he became the first player in the history of cricket to smash five hundreds. However, Virat Kohli is currently ranked first in ODI cricket while his deputy Rohit Sharma is placed at the second spot.
Meanwhile, former Australia leg-spinner Brad Hogg thinks that Virat Kohli is comparatively better than Rohit Sharma mainly because of his incredible consistency and exquisite appetite for scoring more runs while also chasing down targets.
“Well, Virat Kohli, because he’s more consistent when India have the big run chases as he stands up and delivers but you really can’t compare the two as they have different roles,” Brad Hogg said in a Youtube video.
Hogg added that both Rohit and Virat complement each other quite well as Rohit set up the innings in the initial ten overs while the latter plays well in the middle and end overs.
“Rohit’s role is to be aggressive against the new ball bowlers when field restrictions are at their least and Virat’s role is to bat through the innings and make sure he’s there at the end, so they complement each other,” Hogg added.
Virat Kohli has played 248 ODIs where he scored 11867 runs at an average of 59.34 including 58 half-centuries and 43 hundreds.
On the contrary, Rohit has scored 9115 runs in 224 ODIs at an average of 49.27 with the help of 29 centuries and 3 double-hundreds- which is most by any batsman.
