Once the most fearsome pace star of Australia, Brett Lee looked upon Rubel Hossain in the Nidahas Trophy with appreciations; literally he was amused watching Rubel’s bowling all along the tournament.
The former Aussie pacer said among all the pacers played in the Nidahas Trophy, the ability of Rubel Hossain to deliver Yorkers seemed best to him.
“Perhaps Rubel was the only fast bowler in this tournament who delivered with a straight sim position. He can bowl excellent Yorkers with a short run-up.
After scoring a not so weighty score of 163 against a strong batting line up, Rubel Hossain brought Bangladesh back into the attack with an excellent first spell where he claimed 2 wickets conceding just 13 runs.
But the irony of fate turned around the equation for Bangladesh in one of Rubel Hossain’s over; the 19th over bowled by him conceded 22 runs by the time India needed 34 runs in 12 deliveries.
Being compassionate for Rubel Hossain, Brett Lee tweeted, “Hold your head high Rubel, you tried your best and I’m sure your country is proud of you.”
