Broad named match referee for Nidhas Trophy

Former England batsman Chris Broad has been named match referee for the upcoming Nidhas Trophy which is scheduled to be played among host Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India. Broad thus far has officiated in 461 international matches – 93 Tests, 294 ODIs and 74 T20Is.

On the other hand, the on-field and TV umpires for the tournament will be Sri Lanka’s all three umpires on ICC’s international panel Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Ranmore Martinez and Ravindra Wimalasiri.

To be noted, Bangladesh will play their first match in the tournament on March 8 against India. There will be two round-robin matches each between the three teams before the final is contested between the best two.

The tournament will run from 6th March to 18th March. All the matches are scheduled to be played in Colombo at 7:30 PM Bangladesh time.. The opening match will be played between Sri Lanka and India.

Ahead of the series, Bangladesh team left the country for Sri Lanka on Sunday.
