The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will miss the upcoming T20 International series and ODI series against England which starts from June 3. According to the reports, he injured his finger during the 1st T20 International game against Ireland in Dublin. Bumrah will return home, hoping to be fit for the five match Test series against the same opponent that starts on August 1.
Jasprit Bumrah’s injury will be a huge blow for Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming series- considering his form and accuracy in the limited-overs format.
“But he was very good in the Tests in South Africa as well and team management will hope that he gets fit in time for the Test series against England. It’s a big blow for India. Hope his replacement will do a good job out of it,” a source said.
India are likely to include Shardul Thakur or Deepak Chahar as the replacement. Both were the part of Chennai Super Kings in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League. For their brilliant performance in IPL, they earned a call-up for India A team who are currently touring England.
The Indian team will play three T20 Internationals, three One-Day Internationals and five Test matches against England in their den. They are looking at the series as their preparation for the next year World Cup which will take place in England.
