Losing the toss, Buttler put on a 150-run stand in 2nd wicket with skipper Samson (48) to lead Rajasthan to a 220/3 after 20 overs. Sandeep Sharma, Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar took 1 wicket each for SRH.

Chasing a mammoth 221, SRH started off aggressively as regular opener Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey, who opened the innings in absence of Warner, put on a half-century stand inside the powerplay. But Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman gave the breakthrough to RR taking the wicket of Pandey who scored 31 runs off 20 balls.

But SRH’s middle order fell away once again. They lost wickets at regular intervals and never got going in the chase. At the end, they were able to score 165 for 8 in their 20 overs. Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris got three wickets each while Kartik Tyagi and Rahul Tewatia also picked up a wicket apiece for RR.

With the win, RR climbed to the sixth spot of the points table and SRH still remained at the bottom of the table.
