CA could appoint England’s Strauss to lead Australian cricket
Can a former England captain be the head of the Australian Cricket Board? Incredible, but such a possibility has been created.
England’s Andrew Strauss may come to the rescue to save the troubled Australian board. Kevin Roberts, the chief executive officer of Cricket Australia (CA), has recently been axed from his position. The search is on for a suitable candidate in his place.
According to Australian media reports, former England cricketer Andrew Strauss can take the position of Roberts. It is learned that discussions are underway with Strauss in this regard. Wouldn’t there be controversy if Strauss, who led England to victory in the Ashes against Australia, were put at the head of the CA? Will everyone accept such a decision?
But this question has also arisen. But there are other arguments for Strauss. Strauss played cricket for the University of Sydney in 1998-1999 before playing 100 Tests for England.
After his playing profession, Strauss was knighted and was designated as the England and Wales Cricket Board’s executive of cricket in 2015. He eventually stepped down from the job in 2018 to invest more timewith his better half, who passed on from an uncommon type of lung cancer soon thereafter.
