The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) and representatives of all Dhaka Premier Division League clubs sat today (Monday) to discuss issues surrounding the commencement of the League for the 2012-13 season.
The meeting was chaired by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan. Following the discussion the BCB President expressed his hope that it would be possible to start the Premier League soon: “The club representatives are positive about starting the League. We also want the competition to get underway as early as possible because this event is the main source of income for the majority of the local players.
“We are going to work with the clubs on a possible itinerary. The League could kick off around
mid-June this year and continue through July.”
Chairman of CCDM Mohammed Jalal Yunus informed that a new payment structure could be in place this season: “The CCDM and the clubs have agreed on exploring the possibility of a more transparent and precise player payment system for the Dhaka Premier League. The draft of a new payment structure, that would be beneficial for all, should be ready over the next seven days.”
