CCDM informs about Shakib’s DPL availability, matches and venues
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) has talked about the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League’s (DPL) arrangement which is scheduled from 31 May 2021 after the end of Bangladesh’s ODI series against Sri Lanka.
CCDM has also talked about Shakib’s inclusion in any club of DPL. There will be no foreign players this time due to the Covid-19 crisis. However, if any team want to take free players like Shakib Al Hasan, they will have to apply to CCDM for the availability.
All the 12 teams will play in a single day which means there are six matches everyday this year. All the matches will be in day-light which means this team there are no day-night matches.
Apart from this, there will also be a day break before every match day. 3 venues are selected for the tournament which is BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protistha) No 3 Ground, BKSP No 4 Ground and Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. And Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah has been chosen for reserve venue.
CCDM confirmed all the information to BDCricTime on Wednesday (May 5).
Meanwhile, the 2019-20 season’s League was postponed on 19 March 2020 after just one completed round of matches in compliance with measures taken to fight the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The competition will now have a fresh start and will be played in a T20 format instead of the usual 50 overs.
