Chandimal reveals why they didn’t target bonus point

After losing the first two matches of the tri-nation series, Sri Lanka have finally experienced the taste of glory as they beat Zimbabwe comfortably by 5 wickets to stay alive in the tournament.

Due to Angelo Mathews’ injury, he is ruled of the series and Dinesh Chandimal is leading the side in absence of him. The Sri Lanka captain is relived after winning on a tough surface.

Chandimal in post match press conference: “It was tough, especially after the first two games. It is tough for any team. We got only four games. When you win first two games you have a good chance in the tournament. But we discussed so many things. We had something up our sleeve and we got the result we wanted.

About Chandika Hathurusingha: “It is always an honour and pleasure to work with Chandika Hathurusingha. He has got good knowledge. As a player, we will have to learn more from him. He is an asset. I am sure guys will perform well in the future.”

About captaincy: “As a captain, the pressure is always there. I am enjoying my captaincy, especially once you win and perform.”
