Chennai & Comilla are no different to Du Plessis
The South African has successful statistics for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Chennai also won the title in the last edition. Comilla Victorians is also one of the most successful teams in the BPL, with a record of winning multiple titles.
Du Plessis came to play in BPL for the first time so he can find the shadow of Chennai in Comilla. He said, "Both are championship winning teams. This team has done very well, winning trophies. That’s why it was a nice fit for me to come across similarities. "
"So it was easy for me to decide (to play in BPL)."
In order to find more similarities, he will have to spend more time in Comilla. However, he is enjoying the company of Comilla. The Protea superstar also hopes that the BPL experience will be good.
Du Plessis said: "It is too early for me to tell you. I am pretty new in the environment. You can ask me the question a bit later in the competition. It is a very relaxed group with a very relaxed coach. Things look very good. The BPL experience must be good."
He has skyrocketing demand in franchise cricket. International cricket has been sidelined to meet that demand. Du Plessis explains why franchise cricket is his favorite.
"It's just great to play T20," he said. "It is nice to play T20s. You don’t have to wake up at seven o clock in the morning to play a Test match. The other day though, we had to leave the hotel at seven o clock to practice.
"I said to the guys, ‘I retired not to do this anymore, and now you are taking me to practice early in the morning’. T20 is great, you play a lot of games. Tournaments are short. Four weeks, in and out. You get to do what you love."
