Explaining the inclusion of Fazle Mahmud, Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, “We have included Rabbi as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan because he can bat and also bowl left-arm spin. He is performed consistently in the domestic circuit and also played well in the Ireland tour with Bangladesh A recently.”

Pace bowling all-rounder Saifuddin has also been added in the squad.

Minhajul Abedin said, “It is true that he did not manage to impress at the international stage but I’m confident he has left those memories behind. Our head coach was impressed with him and since we need a pace bowling all-rounder, why not give him a try as we are still looking for someone who can bat down the order as well as bowl with good pace.”

The series will begin in Dhaka from October 21st, with the two remaining matches to be held on October 24th and October 26th in the port city Chittagong.
