Chief selector explains the reason for discarding Nasir

Nasir returns with fine formRiding in the musical chair of team Bangladesh, all-rounder Nasir Hossain has been in and out of the team for long. In the last completed bilateral home series against Australia, Nasir was selected in the squad, later he received the opportunity of playing in both Tests, but once again he is out of the team.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu explained why Nasir Hossain has been discarded.

“We had considered Nasir Hossain in the Test against Australia because of the home condition. But in South Africa, everything will be totally different from that of here, so we have decided to omit Nasir from the squad,” he said.

The 16 men Bangladesh squad will fly for South Africa on 16th of September.

Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mominul Haque, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Litton Kumar Das, Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain and Subashis Roy.
