Chopra picks two IPL stars who might be picked for home series against England

India are currently in Australia for an important overseas assignment. The Men in Blue already played ODI and T20I series against Australia. While they lost the ODI series by 1-2, they restored pride by winning the T20I series by 2-1. Both the teams are sincerely prepping for the upcoming four-match Test series. The first match will be played at Adelaide Oval on December 17.

After the conclusion of the Test series, India will host England for a full-fledged home tour. Meanwhile, former India opening batsman Aakash Chopra has picked two uncapped players who might get an opportunity to play against England. The cricket expert reckons that Mumbai Indians stars – Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan might get a chance to represent Indian national cricket team.

Both the players brought the best out of themselves for Mumbai Indians in the 13th edition of the IPL. Even after performing well in domestic and IPL season, Suryakumar didn’t earn his place for Australia tour. Chopra reckons that these two cricketers might get an opportunity in the T20I series against England.

Surya and Kishan might get a chance: Aakash Chopra

It is to be noted that England would be touring India in February 2021. With Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson still not cementing their place in the team, it is likely that Surya and Ishan might be picked for the home series against England.

“Let’s be honest, they are not that far. Because Samson got a chance, but he could not make use of that. Shreyas Iyer is also going 50-50, his Australian tour has not been that great, in fact, I will call it a slightly disappointing tour. So if we see from that point of view and Manish Pandey’s place is also not fully cemented,” Chopra said while answering the question to a fan on his official YouTube channel.

“So both Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are knocking the doors, and considering the number of our players that are getting injured, I feel they might even get to play against England.

I don’t think both of them are too far, but if they have another good IPL, which they had in IPL 2020, and if even the 2021 edition goes good, then you will definitely see them play international cricket,” concluded Aakash Chopra.
