Classic Mahmudullah becomes leading run scorer of BPL

The ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is not having a competition between the teams only but also an inside competition is going on between the local and foreign players.

As five foreign players are allowed in the playing XI in this season, the local players have find it difficult to adapt themselves and play well in the beginning. But as time is passing, the local players is adapting themselves and trying to go toe in toe with the foreign players.

Few days ago, Khulna Titans skipper Mahmudullah Riyad was asked in a press conference about his opinion about playing with five foreign players in a team. The all-rounder said it is a great challenge for them and that’s the benefit. 

The senior batsman has rightly taken the challenge well and battling against the foreign players to become the top scorer. After scoring 59 runs in a crucial match against Rangpur Riders, Mahmudullah is now the 2nd leading run scorer and also the top scorer as a local player with 248 runs in 7 matches.

In the overall list, he is only behind Rangpur Riders’ Ravi Bopara who has scored 278 runs in 7 matches. 

But this is not the only thing for Mahmudullah to hit the headlines. He is now also the leading run scorer in the history of BPL. He has played 58 matches in his BPL career so far and scored 1330 runs including 8 half centuries. The second on the list is Mushfiqur Rahim with 1292 runs and Tamim Iqbal is in 3rd postion with 1069 runs. 

There has been a several ups and downs in the career of Mahmudullah Riyad, but he has always rise up to the occasion and delivered in most crucial stages when it mattered the most for the national team and as well for his BPL team.
