COVID cases found in Chattogram squad

Two COVID-19 cases have been found in Gazi Group Chattogram squad ahead of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020.

BDCricTime has learnt that batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy, U-19 World Cup winner, and a team boy are the only guys to test positive for the novel coronavirus.

The rest of the Chattogram squad are negative. The other four teams – Beximco Dhaka, Minister Group Rajshahi, Gemcon Khulna and Fortune Barishal are COVID-free. Everyone with a negative result will board on a bio-secure hotel.

Earlier, Khulna’s Mahmudullah Riyad and Mominul Haque of Chattogram tested positive. Both men have recovered just before the start of the tournament.

The Bangabandhu T20 Cup kicks off on November 24. Beximco Dhaka will take on Minister Group Rajshahi in the opening match. Fortune Barishal will meet Gemcon Khulna in the second game of the day.
