Crowd storms in Pakistan

Pakistan cricket team has come under severe criticism from the national media and crowd outrage across the country after their defeat against arch – rival India in their first group match of the tournament.

A leading daily newspaper of Pakistan said, “The writing was on the wall from the very beginning.” The Lahore based Daily Times headlined, “Pakistan failed to break World Cup jinx against India.”

Huge crowds gathered in front of large screen in different parts of Pakistan to watch the age old battle; people broke the television set and threw stones after the match ended. In some parts of Panjab crowd burned effigy of cricketers to tame anger. They made slogan against the cricket board and the cricketers.

The headline of Dawn showed, “India preserved flawless World Cup record against Pakistan.”
