Chennai Super Kings made the headlines recently when they roped in South African pacer Hardus Viljoen as a net bowler. The former Punjab Kings bowler was seen hitting the deck hard in the training session.

In the latest development, the three-time IPL champions made yet another move by roping in Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi as a net bowler. The news was confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board. The ACB tweeted photos of their player Farooqi leaving for Chennai while making the announcement.

“Young Fast bowler @fazalhaqfarooq6 left to India where he is roped in as a net bowler by @ChennaiIPL for the upcoming season of @IPL!” said the ACB.

It should be noted that Farooqi made his international debut in the third game against Zimbabwe on March 20. He had opened the bowling for Afghanistan and took his maiden wicket in the first over of the fifth ball by getting rid of Zimbabwe opener Tinashe Kamnhukamwe for 1.

Meanwhile, CSK’s preparatory camp shifted from Chennai to Mumbai on Thursday. MS Dhoni-led team will play their first five matches in Mumbai. They will kick-start their journey on April 10 as they will take on Delhi Capitals.

After that, they will play against Punjab Kings on April 16, Rajasthan Royals on April 19, Kolkata Knight Riders on April 21 and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 25 before shifting to Delhi.

Besides that, they will also play their league fixtures in Bengaluru and Kolkata respectively.
