CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive again for COVID19

Chennai Super Kings likely to be the first franchise to board UAE

After the exit of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh from the Indian Premier League, the three-times champions Chennai Super Kings was hit by another bad news. The young talented cricketer, Ruturaj Gaikwad is tested positive again for coronavirus. The uncapped Indian cricketer will continue to remain in isolation and will not join the team’s bio bubble until he tests negative.

There were 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings camp who were tested positive and Ruturaj Gaikwad was one of them. Deepak Chahar, who was tested positive a few weeks ago, has recovered and joined the practice sessions.

As he will be in quarantine, he is almost out of the opening game of the upcoming season between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The first game of the season is to be played on September 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was supposed to play all games for his franchise after the exit of Suresh Raina. According to N Srinivasan, Gaikwad would play all games in the absence of Suresh Raina who opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

But, with Gaikwad in isolation, CSK might try Ambati Rayudu again at number three. Rayudu, who was in terrific form at no.3 spot in 2018, scored 602 runs. But he could not replicate his form as he could score just 282 runs in 2019.
