CWC 2019: Pandya hopeful of lifting the trophy
Indian seam bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya is hopeful that he will contribute the team to lift the trophy of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
The biggest cricket festival of cricket, ICC Cricket World Cup is on the floors now in England and Wales for its 12th edition. A total of ten teams are competing in the tournament in the league stage with round-robin method.
One of the favorites of the tournament, India have started their tournament well with a comprehensive win by six wickets over South Africa in Ageas Bowl in their campaign opener. It was Hardik Pandya who hit the winning runs for India in their campaign opener.
Eventhough he didn’t made any big moments in the first match, the all-rounder in a recent interview said that he wants to help India lift the coveted trophy on July 14 at the historic Lord’s balcony. He also spoke about his relationship with other players and stated that every teammate is his brother.
“I am someone who thinks about every game. I have thought about lifting the World Cup as well. I want to be the guy who makes sure India gets there. My teammates are my brothers. This is one team where everyone is close to each other, I can joke around with anyone. I have a fantastic relation with everyone,” Pandya said.
Further Hardik Pandya said about the support they are getting from the crowd which makes them feel like playing in home. “Indian crowd here won’t make us feel like we are playing in England. That would be nice actually. Even if something goes wrong in a couple of games, we still have 7 or 8 games to go to make up for it,” he concluded.
