CWC 2019: Pietersen and Yuvi involve in a healthy banter

As Rohit Sharma brought up his fourth century of this World Cup against Bangladesh, wishes started to pour in for Hitman from fans and former cricketers for his extraordinary achievement as he equalled Kumar Sangakkara’s record of 4 centuries scored in a single World Cup tournament.

Yuvraj Singh took to his official Twitter handle to congratulate Rohit for his knock, adding that he was inching pretty much closer to the “Man of the Series (MOS)” trophy.

“And @ImRo45 walks closer to the Icc mos trophy 🏆 👊🏽🕺🏼 #hitman you beauty 💯 no 4 ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼 well played champion !!!,” Yuvi tweeted while congratulating his best buddy Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen came up with his own response for Yuvraj Singh, in what turned out to be a healthy banter between the two greats over Rohit Sharma’s 4th century in this World Cup. Kevin Pietersen added that Rohit Sharma will not win the Man of the Series award just in case England win the World Cup 2019. In his reply, Pietersen tagged Yuvraj as a “Pie-Chucker”, recalling the 2008 incident where KP called Yuvraj a “pie-chucker who bowls filth”.

“Not if England wins the WC, Pie-Chucker!,” KP tweeted.

Yuvraj Singh who doesn’t like to stop it so soon did not really back down as he replied to Pietersen in a typical way. In his reply, Yuvraj took a swipe at England, asking them to “qualify first” before even thinking about winning the tournament. “Let’s qualify first and then talk about wining 😅 and I’m talking about mos trophy not winning!,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

The former England batsman had finally made up his mind to conclude the conversation with a witty one-liner of his own, claiming that he was sure that India would make it to the knock-out stages. “I’m sure India will qualify mate!,” KP tweeted.
