A large scale security breach occurred in the match between England Afghanistan on Tuesday when a spectator trespassed the security cordon and ran on to the pitch to dislodge zing bails.

The incident caused the match to be stopped for a few minutes during Afghanistan’s 398-run chase against England at the Old Trafford.

The pitch invader came running on to the crease during the 24th over of the Afghanistan innings when  Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi on batting.

The unidentified individual running to the middle of the pitch, stretched his hands onto the bails in a trial to dislodge them, he was probably trying to see how difficult it was!

Security personnel promptly caught him and escorted him out of the stadium. It was the first case of pitch invasion in this World Cup so far.

In the ongoing tournament, a number of incidents occurred when zing bails refused to splatter from its’ place even after being hit by fast bowlers.
