Dananjaya, Williamson reported for suspect bowling action

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya both have been reported for suspect bowling action.

After the first Test between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, which took place from August 14-18 in Galle, Kane Williamson and Akila Dananjaya have been reported for suspect bowling action.

Dananjaya’s isn’t a surprising one and so as Williamson’s as they both have been called for illegal action earlier in their careers as well. Williamson was banned in July 2014 while the Sri Lankan off-spinner was banned in 2018.

Williamson and Dananjaya will now have to undergo testing within 14 days from the reporting date. However, the duo can bowl, till the time the results of the tests are known.

Williamson bowled only three overs in that Test match while Dananjaya picked up a fifer in the first innings of the Test match.
