Delhi Daredevils registers massive win
Delhi Daredevils has executed a crushing win against Rising Pune Supergiant in the ninth match of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League.
At the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Delhi Daredevils batsmen mounted a mammoth total of 205 runs after being sent into bat first and then their bowlers bundled Rising Pune Supergiant out for a paltry of 108 runs, suffered a 98 run defeat at the end.
Rising Pune Supergiant’s captain Ajinkya Rahane must have had remorse for sending the Daredevils to bat first after winning the toss in the evening; but how did he assume about a 22 year old wicket keeper batsman’s explosive perception for the match.
Sanju Viswanath Samson of Kerala, accomplished a thunderous ton for Delhi Daredevils, scored 102 runs facing 63 deliveries. Had Adam Zampa bowled him not in the 19th over of the innings as the last wicket Delhi Daredevils lost today, the team would have more to reproach for RPS today.
Samson hit 8 fours while flicked 5 balls for sixes. No other batsman, however, practically did not gather much opportunity to score beside Samson. At the penultimate stage of the innings, Chris Morris struck hard to score an unbeaten 38 runs with 4 fours and 3 sixes.
R Pant also made 31 off 22 ball with 1 shots of four and double that amount of sixes.
In chasing down that huge total, Rising Pune Supergiant innings tossed and turned from the beginning of the show started losing wickets abruptly.
First it was captain Ajinkya Rahane to go at the team score of 24. 10 runs afterwards, M Agarwal went into the pavilion, both became the hunt of veteran Zahir Khan who practically diminished RPS’ any chance to chase that big total.

Faf Du Plessis, Rising Pune Supergiants’ big gun, could not fire any shot except a single four before becoming the fourth batsman to depart when the team score just crossed fifty run mark.
RPS’s million dollar recruit Ben Stokes failed to be in the winning side one more time; his 2 run innings hastened the downfall of the team. And with that former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni too, faltered scoring a 14 ball 11 with one shot of six.
So did the flurry of wickets went down as Rising Pune Supergiant got bundled out scoring 108 runs. Zahir Khan and Amit Mishra did most of the damage claiming 3 wickets each while Pat Cummins captured 2 in the last moment.
