Darren Sammy to lead Rajshahi in BPL-5!

Darren Sammy, one of the successful skipper of T-20 arena, led Rajshahi Kings to final in last season’s of BPL T20. He failed to clinch the title but was praised a lot for his outstanding roles in captaincy. There were two options in front of Darren Sammy, whether to partake in the very first edition of South Africa’s ‘Globan T20 League’ or to play in BPL T20 2017. After ending all the speculations, It has been learnt, the 33-year-old Caribbean cricketer has chosen the second option and all set to partake in BPL.

He will be available in Rajshahi Kings for full seasons. According to reliable sources, it has been further learnt that he will not only take part in BPL but also lead the side from the front in this season’s BPL T20 too. It is known, an announcement will be made soon by Rajshahi Kings about his inclusion.

To be noted, Darren Sammy impressed all by his all-round performance in concluded BPL 20 2016. He was impressive with bat and ball. He scored 276 runs at an average of 30.66 including 2 fifties and helped his sides to clinch victory in several matches. Apart from outstanding batting, He was very much useful with the ball, he gave his teams breakthrough in a regular basis and took a number of 6 wickets in last season’s BPL.
It can be mentioned, Rajshahi Kings have been so far outstanding in roping in cricketers. They have signed Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim as their icon cricketer. They have retained four foreigners- Mohammad Sami, K Williams, Samit Patel, James Franklin from their last season’s squad. Alongside this, the runner-up of last season’s have confirmed the inclusion of Lendl Simmions, M Waller and Luke Wright in their squad for the upcoming campaign.
